Stacy Siegal
Stacy has over 20 years of experience managing legal, human resources and business administration functions, primarily in the retail sector. She is currently the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of J.Crew Group, a leading specialty apparel retailer operating under its J.Crew®, Madewell®, and J.Crew Factory® brands. In this role she oversees all of J.Crew Group’s legal operations and serves as an advisor to management and the Board of Directors.
Prior to her current role, Stacy Siegal was EVP and General Counsel at AEO, inc., a leading global specialty retailer offering high-quality, on-trend clothing, accessories and personal care products at affordable prices under its American Eagle® and Aerie® brands, for approximately 6 years. She managed the legal, HR, corporate communications and philanthropy functions, as well as acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on all legal and employment-related matters, leading the company through a significant period of change and complex macroeconomic challenges. Passionate about leading with purpose, Stacy was responsible for building and scaling AEO’s first ESG program and served as the President and Chair of the company’s foundation.
Prior to joining AEO, inc., Stacy was the SVP, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary at rue21, inc., for 10 years, heading both the legal and human resources departments for the company. During her tenure there, Stacy led the transition of rue21 from a private to a public company, and managed all public company responsibilities including securities filings, regulatory compliance, investor relations and stakeholder communication, prior to leading the transition from a public back to a private company.
Prior to joining rue21, Stacy worked as a Human Resources consultant, corporate counsel for General Nutrition Companies, Inc. and as a litigation associate in the largest women owned law firm in Washington, D.C.. Stacy earned her BA from Lehigh University and her JD from George Washington University. Although she has three wonderful children -- Joshua, Jillian and Drew -- she recently became an “empty nester” and currently divides her time between New York City and the Pittsburgh area with her husband Mark.
